The answer is yes, it certainly is. Here’s the problem: there are a lot of people trying to take advantage of people’s money.

The idea that they can claim it’s easy or that you can get rich overnight is absolute bulls–t.

Is making money online a scam?

Making money online is a real thing.

You can definitely get a lot out of what you can learn from the internet; however, there are places where it does definitely feel like a scam.

In some cases, making money online can be a scam based on the information you find. If it’s not trustworthy, there’s a good chance you’re going to be throwing away your money.

Unfortunately, I would say there are more scams out there today than there ever have been.

It has been the case for a long time, but I feel that it’s gone worse. The reason is that it’s easier to get started in an online business.

But, there are people out there who are motivated to enrich themselves- while not helping others at the same time.

Whether they’re going to charge people more than they should or they’re going to lie in order to make a quick buck is a problem.

These types of scams exist and you got to be on the lookout for them.

Is making money online legit?

Making money online is still legitimiate, besides all of the ways people might tell you. The key thing to remember is to not fall for something that sounds too good to be true.

In that case, you probably should stay away from it. So be on the lookout for potential scams, while also looking out for legit methods to earning money online.

Good methods to make money online

As mentioned earlier, there are legitimate ways to make money.

But keep in mind: None of these are going to produce quick results overnight.

They will take time and effort to put in, but they can be worthwhile to do in the long run. The work you do today can produce big results down the road.

Besides doing small tasks that make you little money (such as taking online surveys), you can make money through other methods. Some methods include:

  • Writing articles for a blog
  • Making videos (to publish on YouTube)
  • Creating your own digital course
  • Starting an e-commerce store- through your own website, or sell products through Amazon, eBay, and Etsy

My recommendation

These are great ways to make a substantial income.

It’s definitely possible to create your own product and you can do that with a digital course.

But I believe that either blogging or making videos is probably the best way to get started.

The reason is that you don’t need a lot of investment and there’s a little overhead; for example, no need for a large staff.

There are some benefits to these methods. How I monetize them is something called affiliate marketing.

That is where you can insert affiliate links on your blog post or video descriptions. When the visitor clicks on them and makes a purchase, you will earn a commission.

Things to stay away from

Of course, there are going to be things that you’re going to want to stay away from.

One example is phishing- that’s very common on the internet these days.

But the big one that we see a lot in the make money online space is making money quickly and fast.

There are far too many programs out there claiming that you can make money and become rich instantly.

I can’t tell you how many ads I have seen online over the years claiming that to be the case

Hint: It sounds too good to be true

It’s gone to the point where I’m just sick and tired of seeing them because I know that it’s most likely a scam.

Whenever you see an ad or someone telling you that you can make money quickly and that’ll be easy, then that definitely should raise a red flag.

Believe me: I used to be one of those people who fell for that a long time ago.

Now that I’ve been exposed to them for the last decade, I have a better understanding of what is legit and what is not.

So if you run across a lot of these make-money schemes, it’ll be easy with no effort then you’re just best to just pass on it.

Best tip of advice

In my experience, my best type of advice would be to question what you are seeing- now that may sound easier to say than do, but it can really help you out.

Consider it this way: The internet is so advanced that it’s very easy to research programs or people online.

If there’s someone telling you you can make a business and get rich overnight, you might want to do some research on that.

I believe it’s helped me a lot in determining whether to invest in courses or not, especially when it comes to the make money online niche.

There are a lot of them out there. There are very few good platforms out there that do with the honest way but they’re a lot that doesn’t do it in an honest, ethical manner.

So if you run across those courses or programs where it sounds too good to be true, I would say shut your computer off and run as far away as possible.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Is making money online something that’s fascinated you?
  • Can you easily detect a scam?
  • Have you easily fallen into one before?
  • What are some best methods to earn income online well not sounding scammy
  • Have you had any success making money online?

Final Words

Making money online is possible today. There are great approaches to doing it, but far too often, people fall into scams where they could easily lose a lot of money.

I’ve been there before and I have easily fallen for those scams. I was certain that I could do it.

But now that I  think about it, I kind of feel naive and a little arrogant at the time.

I’ve definitely learned my lesson, so it’s good that I got exposed to that at an early age at this point.

I’m really good at detecting those scams and it is my job to make sure that people are aware of them.

Not only that but they can identify other opportunities that can make them money legitimately.
